About this centre

The Kumon Maths and English Study Programmes offer what traditional tuition gives to your child and more. Kumon goes one step further by helping each child develop self-learning skills, enabling them to tackle challenging work without reliance on a teacher. Our aim is to help any child of any ability to progress and develop a curiosity and love for learning.

Your local Instructor will set work for your child at just the right level, enabling them to build confidence in their abilities and progress their maths and English skills in small, manageable steps through daily study. They will visit their local study centre twice a week for sessions with their Instructor. This allows the Instructor to tailor and adapt each child’s study plan to their abilities, through observing their progress and fluency at each level. Our study programmes are individualised to each child to help them establish strong learning foundations and a positive learning experience, to build skills and confidence for their future.

I am Rachel Taylor, the Instructor at the Cleveleys Centre.

I became a Kumon Instructor in 2008 after relocating back to the Fylde from Somerset. After graduating with a masters degree in mathematics, I undertook a PGCE course and worked as a maths teacher, within the UK and Botswana.

I have been involved in education for most of my life and I am passionate about nurturing students to become the best they can be; independent, self-learners with a positive, tenacious attitude towards self-development.

I was inspired by Kumon’s ethos and their study programmes, which I could clearly see would benefit any participating student. Seeing students improve and grow in confidence is very rewarding and it is what drives me. I am there to help your child achieve and develop as a learner and to help you as a parent to facilitate that progress on non-class days.

Communication is very important and I am always available to discuss and listen at any time.
