About this centre

Welcome to the Kumon Deptford Study Centre.

The centre welcomes children of all ages and abilities; currently, we have students from as young as two, through to those who are studying for their GCSEs, A-Levels and beyond. Students attend the centre on a regular basis and come from various local areas.

The Instructor, Melody To, and the assistants observe the students as they complete their classwork and ensure every child’s time in class runs smoothly. Newly enrolled students are closely observed to develop their independence and self-learning skills.

The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.

Unlike the process of a traditional tuition provider, Kumon encourages students to take their learning into their own hands. The role of the Kumon Instructor is to provide guidance, support and encouragement, allowing the student to develop their own independent learning strategies.

Hello, my name is Melody To and I am the Instructor at the Kumon Deptford Study Centre.

I have been with Kumon since 2014 and thoroughly enjoy working with my students and developing them into capable self-learners using the Kumon Method of Learning. As a Kumon parent myself, I enjoy watching my children learn and progress from one concept to another through the Kumon programmes.

I spent several years as a maths and English tutor, including teaching English in Chiang Mai to children from two to 15 years old.

After starting a family, I decided to become a Kumon Instructor, having always been fascinated by the success stories I'd come across and upon hearing the many benefits of Kumon study.

At the Kumon Deptford Study Centre, I greatly enjoy seeing the students working hard and achieving their goals. They continue to amaze me and I am proud of each individual’s work. I encourage my students to keep their worksheets in their own individual folders so they and their parents can see their hard work too.

For more information, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to welcoming all students and their families to the centre.
