About this centre

The Kumon Epsom Study Centre was established in 1998, offering maths and English programmes for students of all ages and abilities.

Working alongside the Instructor is a team of dedicated assistants ready to make each student's class visit a positive experience. The majority of assistants are former and current Kumon students in the higher levels of study.

There are many good schools, both independent and state run, within the area and some selective secondary schools in Sutton and Cheam. Many of our students attend these schools and live in the local community. We also have students from nearby towns such as Ashtead, Leatherhead, Tadworth and Banstead.

The centre caters for children of various ages and abilities, with current students ranging from three to 19 years old.

The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.

Through daily study, both at the study centre and independently at home, Kumon goes further than traditional methods of tuition by ensuring students maintain a level of development every day.

My name is Gina Pacheco and I have been the Instructor of the Kumon Epsom Study Centre since June 2008.

Seeing my two children develop their abilities on the programme really inspired me to become an Instructor myself. My daughter quickly learned how to read and count through studying the Kumon worksheets, whilst my son’s mental maths and comprehension skills improved immensely; both of them were doing so well in school because of Kumon.

I have sound knowledge and exposure in various mathematical calculations, analytical data and formulae. Coupled with my teaching experience, I am excited to be able to impart my knowledge, use my experiences, and to instruct the Kumon Method of Learning to as many children as possible.

I have been a Kumon Instructor for many years now but remain always amazed just how much a child can achieve on the programmes. Not only do students become independent learners, but they develop invaluable skills such as good concentration, study habits and learning from their mistakes. Kumon develops in students the right mindset to not give up when confronted with unfamiliar and challenging work.

The best part of being an Instructor is definitely seeing my students develop in confidence and ability.
