About this centre

Ofsted Registered

The Kumon Henley-on-Thames Study Centre opened in 2016, and offers maths and English study programmes for students of all ages and abilities. We welcome students from local primary and secondary schools in Henley, as well as those attending schools in the surrounding villages.

The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study. The Henley-on-Thames Study Centre offers a warm, friendly atmosphere where students are supported, encouraged, and praised as they grow in confidence and achieve their full potential.

Through daily worksheet study they develop ability and fluency. Students attend class at the centre for about 30 minutes per subject, once or twice a week. Our venue has excellent facilities, providing a comfortable and quiet environment in which students can focus on completing their work.

We look forward to welcoming your family to the study centre.

Hello and welcome! My name is Dawn Willoughby and I am the Instructor at the Kumon Henley-on-Thames Study Centre.

Becoming a Kumon Instructor has given me a unique opportunity to use my knowledge and skills gained in teaching, as well as the life experiences acquired in raising three children! I am committed to working in partnership with families as we help children to reach their full potential by developing invaluable study skills and building confidence as they become independent learners.

I have worked in education for many years, having previously taught students of all ages in schools, colleges, university, and also as a home tutor. I am a qualified secondary school teacher, and hold a degree in statistics. I have published three books with the aim of making mathematics more accessible to students who do not feel a natural affinity with numerical subjects. Always seeking to improve my knowledge, I am currently working on a masters degree in education.

I am very proud to be a Kumon Instructor and I thoroughly enjoy running the Henley-on-Thames Study Centre with care and commitment. I look forward to working with you to support your child’s development as they begin their Kumon journey.
