About this centre

Welcome to Kumon Hereford Study Centre.

Our dedicated team of staff welcomes students of all ages and abilities. Students attend the centre for approximately 30 minutes per subject once or twice a week, and your class day/arrival time will be arranged at your initial assessment meeting.

The centre fosters a positive, encouraging atmosphere, and focuses on developing excellent study skills as an integral part of our maths and English programmes. The Kumon programmes pursue the potential of each child, developing their ability and nurturing their independence through daily study, both at the study centre and independently at home.

Following a free assessment your child will begin on the programmes at an individually set starting point. Their progress through the programmes will be tailored to their individual needs. There are a variety of parking options for the centre. The Tesco car park is free for up to 30 minutes or you can park for two hours if you spend £5 in store. There is a car park in West Street or you can park behind the Horse and Groom pub in Eign Street.

My name is Lynn Johnson and I have been running the Hereford Study Centre since 2013. I have a degree in Engineering from Loughborough University, and worked for the mobile phone company Orange before becoming a one to one tutor in 2007 and then re-training to become an Instructor.

I’m very fortunate to be a Kumon Instructor and I am passionate about my work. I strongly believe in individualised learning, and place a great deal of importance on developing strong study skills. I’m fortunate to be able to work with students of all abilities – some may be struggling in school, while others may want to be challenged.

I like to keep in regular contact with parents/carers to keep them informed of their child’s progress, as I believe that they play an important role in their child’s study. Communication is vital to ensure that we work together to enable students to achieve their potential. Formal progress meetings take place regularly and parents/carers are always welcome to contact me at any time outside of class by email or telephone to discuss their child’s progress.
