About this centre

  Two-week Free Trial available

The Kumon Lenzie Study Centre opened in 2005 and opens its doors to children of all ages and abilities. Children attend class once or twice a week and spend around half-an-hour studying each subject. The Instructor Karen, is supported each class by up to six class assistants who are all highly trained and passionate about the individual needs of each child.

The youngest student currently studying at the centre is four years old and the eldest is fifteen. For the young learners in class, we have dedicated class assistants to support the children develop their study skills.

The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study. Through daily study, both at the study centre and independently at home, Kumon goes further than traditional methods of tuition by ensuring students maintain a level of development every day.

Hello, my name is Karen McAdie and I am the Instructor at the Lenzie Study Centre. I have always been passionate about children’s education and most of my career has been dedicated to this cause.

I have been a Kumon Instructor for over 15 years, and before Kumon I was a learning support teacher at both local primary and secondary schools.

I first became interested in Kumon after enrolling two of my children, who at that time were struggling at school. They seemed to thrive and quickly improved both in terms of self-confidence and school performance - I was delighted with the results!  This inspired me to become more involved with Kumon and when a vacancy for a Class Assistant position became available I jumped at the chance.

The Class Assistant role gave me the opportunity to fully understand the programme and I loved seeing that “light-bulb” moment when a child who had previously struggled with a subject finally got it.

Two years later I was running my own centre!

Please do get in touch if you would like to find out more, I would love to hear from you.
