Welcome to the Kumon Raynes Park Study Centre which offers maths and English study programmes. The centre opened as the Copse Hill Study Centre in 2004 and has since been renamed.
Our programmes will not only help your child to become a confident learner, they go one step further than traditional maths or English tuition by equipping them with the skills to learn for themselves.
The students at the centre attend a number of different local schools and currently range in age from three to 15. However, the Kumon programmes cater for children of all ages and abilities, and are tailored by the Instructor to suit each child’s current needs and ability through daily study of the maths and/or English worksheets.
The Instructor is supported at the centre by trained assistants. Building a strong foundation in the way children study is vital to enable them to become mature independent learners, allowing them to realise their full potential.
Hi, my name is Claire Hallam and I have been the Instructor at the Raynes Park Study Centre since May 2004. I strongly believe that all children should have the opportunity to excel and fulfil their potential.
Before I became an Instructor, my children studied Kumon and as a Kumon parent I experienced first hand the benefits of the Kumon programmes.
As a city lawyer, I volunteered to listen to children from a primary school in Tower Hamlets read. The children were very excited and enthusiastic about being listened to and this made me realise how rewarding it is to help educate children.
Over the last thirteen years of running my centre, I have seen the positive impact that the Kumon programmes have had on the large number of students that have attended my centre not only in terms of improving their abilities in maths and English, but also in developing their study skills, concentration, motivation and confidence. These skills enable students to become mature, independent learners.
Seeing students succeed is the most rewarding part of my role and I particularly like the fact that I can set each student's work individually so that they can work at their ideal pace.
