About this centre

Kumon study aims to ensure that every child develops a love for learning. We offer maths and English programmes to help students of any age and ability to progress their skills and build key foundations for learning. Traditional maths and English tuition helps students progress, but Kumon goes one step further by helping each child develop self-learning skills, enabling them to tackle challenging work without reliance on a teacher.

Students complete daily worksheet study developing ability and fluency gradually over time, progressing in small steps and building confidence. They also visit their local study centre up to twice a week for guidance from their Instructor. Your child’s Kumon Instructor will set work at just the right level to challenge and keep them engaged, regardless of age or school year. This means that they can strengthen their key skills or progress beyond school grade level without restriction. Kumon offers a cost-effective and convenient way to help your child build strong English and maths skills for a successful future.

My name is Pam Aujla and I am the Instructor at the Kumon Rugby Study Centre. I have worked with young people for many years in an educational setting, and am passionate about developing them into confident individuals who can reach their full potential.

I first became aware of Kumon during my years teaching maths within a secondary school; I was astounded at the difference between the students in my classes who had studied with Kumon and those who had not. I was so impressed by how the Kumon Method enabled these students to independently acquire new skills that I looked into becoming an Instructor myself.

Since opening my study centre I have seen so many benefits to the Kumon Method of Learning which I believe place Kumon above other supplementary education providers; not only does Kumon help develop a student’s academic ability, it provides them with the key study skills of concentration and resilience - skills valuable to employers, yet ones which secondary schools constantly struggle to ingrain into students today.

The greatest privilege I have as a Kumon Instructor is being able to observe students understand a concept for the first time and watch their belief in their own abilities grow with their continued study. The job satisfaction and sense of pride I feel in my role is second to none and I am excited to nurture many more students on the programmes.
