About this centre

The Warrington South Study Centre, which has been open since 1996, is based in the bright and airy Quays Community Centre, which provides an ideal location and is a few minutes drive from Grappenhall and Stockton Heath. Students attend from these and other local areas, as well as further afield, such as High Legh.

Students at the centre currently range in age from two to 18 years old, with many having attended for five years or more. The team of 12 assistants, many of whom are current or past Kumon students, help the children with their work, listen to them read or work on mental maths.

The centre provides a welcoming and motivating atmosphere, where children are keen to learn and both effort and achievement are rewarded. Regular competitions and events are held to help make the centre part of the local community.

Through daily study, both at the study centre and independently at home, Kumon goes further than traditional methods of tuition by ensuring students maintain a level of development every day.

The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.

Hello! My name is Anne Gannon and I am the Instructor at the Warrington South Study Centre, which I took over the centre in 2005. I was ready for a career change, and a friend, whose daughters studied Kumon, told me she thought I’d make a good Instructor, so I looked into it. The more I researched the programmes, the more convinced I became that Kumon really was the way children should learn maths and English, and the more convinced I became that I would really enjoy helping them to do so!

I do have some background in education, I taught maths and computer science at Leigh College for six years, and I had done some one-to-one tutoring to.

Being a Kumon parent and Instructor, I find enormous job satisfaction in helping children to learn. The tiny triumphs can be just as rewarding, seeing the light-bulb moment when a child suddenly grasps division or reads a complex word independently always brings a smile to my face!

If you would like to find out how Kumon could benefit your child, or visit my centre to see how it all works, do please get in touch.
