Three-year-old Amya demonstrates her love of learning

9 December, 2014

Please meet Amya, an early learner who started her journey on the Kumon Maths Programme at just 18 months old.

In this film, parents Sima and Hetal, explain to us how their daughter has developed a love for learning at an early age, as a result of increased confidence from daily study of the maths programme.

Hetal tells us: “It’s realising its actually fun, it can be a game; it’s given us a form of structure, which we can then use with other things as well, she understands the value of her work time and playtime as a result of it. I think a lot of these skills can be used not just with Kumon but with other parts of studying as well.”

Amya is now three years old, currently studying mental addition and subtraction, and has recently completed level 2A of the maths programme.

Jay Popat, Instructor at the Kumon Stanmore Study Centre explained: “Children’s minds are like sponges, so they can observe things, but also, they don’t have school work at this age so parents can get them into a routine of doing work on a daily basis and later children can incorporate Kumon within their school life and school homework and it gives them the love of reading at an early age.”

We look forward to catching up with Amya again in the future to see how her academic journey continues.
