About our centre
We are offering Free Registration to all new students joining the centre until 31 May 2026.
Kumon Cardiff, Caerau Study Centre is led by two dedicated instructors: Anouska, Centre Director, and Smruti, Class Manager.
We proudly support children from Caerau, Ely, Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan, and beyond, welcoming learners aged 3 to 15 years. Our Kumon study method helps children of all abilities build strong foundations in maths and English, while encouraging independent learning and a lifelong love of learning.
Class sizes are intentionally small, both in-centre and online, creating a calm and friendly environment where every child can focus and flourish. Each child begins their Kumon journey with an assessment to identify the “just right” level. Students then attend weekly sessions, where our team monitors progress, adjusts daily worksheets, and provides tailored guidance to help each child reach their full potential.
At Kumon Cardiff, Caerau Centre, we work closely with families, valuing clear communication and partnership. Every child is supported to thrive academically, build confidence, and achieve beyond expectations in a safe and welcoming environment.

About your Instructor
I am a qualified teacher with over 20 years’ experience in education, and I have been a Kumon Instructor since May 2019. Inspired by the progress of my own children, who advanced through Kumon’s step-by-step learning method, I recognised the value of nurturing strong self-learning skills. This approach not only built their academic ability but also fostered independence, confidence, and a genuine love of learning.
Seeing these benefits firsthand motivated me to open Kumon Grangetown, followed by Kumon Cardiff, Caerau, so I could support other children in achieving their full potential.
I work alongside Smruti, our experienced Instructor and Class Manager, who brings valuable insight from her time as a Senior Assistant at Kumon Grangetown, as well as her experience as a Kumon parent. Together, we help students develop their skills while encouraging growth in confidence and independence.
We take great pride in celebrating each child’s achievements and supporting them to flourish both academically and personally. The most rewarding part of my work is seeing students grow in ability, confidence, and a love of learning.
Frequently Asked Questions
Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.
Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.
As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
