The Kumon Coventry Potters Green Study Centre located in Moathouse Leisure Centre, CV2, Coventry and led by Instructor Minju Rathy and her team of classroom assistants.
The Kumon Maths and English Study Programmes enable children of any age and ability to build a strong learning foundation. The programmes will not only help your child to become a confident learner, but they go one step further by equipping them with the skills to learn for themselves. The study programmes are tailored to transform your child into an independent self-learner at a very young age.
Your child’s Kumon journey starts with an initial assessment. Based on this assessment the Instructor will set an individualised study programme with work set at just the right level. The Instructor will monitor and guide your child’s learning development to ensure work remains challenging and exciting. Instructor-led classes are conducted in person and online over Zoom sessions. Kumon study does not follow any curriculum and work is set regardless of age, enabling children to revisit topics or advance far beyond school material without restriction.
Since maths and English are the basis of science and language studies, the strong foundations laid by Kumon in maths and English help children perform very well in exams like the 11+, GCSEs, SATs exams.

About your Instructor
Hello, I’m Minju, the Instructor at Kumon Coventry Potters Green Study Centre.
My journey began with a degree in Commerce, followed by postgraduate qualifications in Commerce and Business. I started my professional career in 2008 as a graduate marketing trainee, where I developed strong analytical, organisational, and leadership skills that now play an important role in how I run and support learning at our centre.
I bring over ten years of experience with Kumon, both as a centre owner and as a class assistant. This long standing involvement has given me a deep understanding of the Kumon Method and how best to support each child’s learning journey. I am passionate about creating a calm, structured, and encouraging environment where students feel supported and motivated to make steady progress.
My connection to Kumon is also personal. As a Kumon parent, I have seen first-hand the positive impact the programme can have. My children started Kumon at the age of three, and through daily study they developed strong academic foundations, confidence, and independence. Their success in school and in challenges such as the 11+, Junior Maths Challenge, and GCSEs reflects the long term benefits of consistent, self-paced learning.
I truly believe that every child has unique potential. At Kumon Coventry Potters Green study centre, I carefully tailor each student’s study programme to help them progress at their own pace while building confidence and resilience.
I am committed to ensuring that every child receives the guidance, structure, and encouragement they need to succeed, not only in school, but for life beyond it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.
Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.
As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
