The Kumon Maths and English Programmes help children of all ages and abilities build strong foundations for learning. Combining traditional tuition with a unique self-learning approach, Kumon develops confidence, independence, and strong study habits that support children throughout their education and beyond.

At Kumon, we believe every child has unlimited potential. Through individualised study, children progress at their own pace, strengthening key skills while developing understanding, accuracy, and confidence.

Each child begins with an assessment to identify the most suitable starting point. Through regular worksheet study and support from their instructor, children steadily build concentration, resilience, and ability in Maths and English.

About your Instructor

I am Agatha and I am passionate about helping children grow in confidence through consistent practice and independent learning. I believe that every child has infinite potential and that with the right guidance, encouragement, and perseverance, every child can flourish both academically and personally. I understand that meaningful learning is built step by step, and I take great joy in seeing children overcome challenges and discover their own abilities.

I have a strong background in administration, customer service, and supporting children and families within structured learning environments. Through my professional experience, I have developed excellent organisational skills, patience, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both children and parents. I have also gained valuable experience working with children in a variety of settings, including academic environments where they are encouraged to realise their full potential.

My calm and encouraging nature helps create a positive learning environment where students feel supported while also being motivated to achieve their best. Through the Kumon Programmes, I am committed to helping children strengthen not only their maths and English skills, but also essential life skills such as focus, discipline, resilience, and independent learning.

I consider it a privilege to play a role in shaping confident, capable, and independent learners for the future.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum.
