At the Enfield Lock Study Centre, we aim to provide the very best service for students and their families. We are a centre of exceptional excellence and continue to develop independent learning in all our students.

The Kumon maths and English Study Programmes enable children of any age and ability to develop key foundations for learning. Our unique study method focuses on enabling children to work independently, giving them confidence in their abilities. They progress through small steps to gradually develop ability and fluency before moving on to the next topic. Kumon study is not based on school curriculum or age, allowing children the flexibility to revisit and build skills where they need to and progress beyond school level where their ability allows. Unlike traditional tuition, Kumon study fosters students’ skill in self-learning, building confidence and lessening reliance on a teacher.

Your child will be assessed to enable their Instructor to set work at just the right level for them. Through daily worksheet study they develop ability and fluency. Your child will visit their local study centre for study sessions up to twice a week, where their Instructor will observe their learning growth and set work accordingly. Kumon’s aim is to develop each child into a confident, independent and enthusiastic learner.

Did you know, you can now study Kumon digitally? This study centre is proud to offer KUMON CONNECT. Click here to find out more.

As an Ofsted registered centre, parents can make considerable savings through various schemes.

About the Instructor

My name is Neeraj Dhingra and I am the Instructor at the Enfield Lock Study Centre. I have a Master’s degree and enjoy learning. Sharing knowledge and training has been a passion in every field I have worked in.

My wife has been a Kumon Instructor for several years and many of her pupils have benefited from experiencing the Kumon approach. I am passionate about the Kumon programmes because I have seen it work. I strongly believe in individualised learning and believe that children love learning given the right environment.

I am delighted that the Enfield Lock Study Centre aspires to foster your child’s potential to the maximum. The centre provides a friendly environment where students can come along and be supported in their studies. We aim to help every child become an independent learner, have the ability to face new challenges with confidence, and progress beyond their school years.

Popular Questions

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
