About this centre

KUMON CONNECT available In-Centre Class available
The newly opened Kumon Faversham Study Centre welcomes students of all ages and abilities to a place where we prioritise their needs as learners.

The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study The centre offers both maths and English starting students at their ‘just right’ level to enable them to either develop their understanding of areas that they find difficult or to learn material beyond what is offered by the school curriculum.

A student’s journey goes beyond this, however, as the benefits of the Kumon Method also teach them independence, confidence and other useful study skills.

The Kumon Maths and English Programmes are not written to prepare children for specific tests like GCSEs or SATs, instead they teach children how to take responsibility for their own learning and develop a better understanding of the material. These values have, time and time again, been shown to serve students well in all aspects of their lives, going beyond both Kumon and their academic careers.

About the Instructor

With more than a decade of experience working within the education system, and as a mother to three children, I have seen firsthand the power and importance of education and the opportunities that it can provide.

I have opened the Kumon Faversham Study Centre to further serve the community, using my experience and skills to communicate effectively with children and their families and to implement an organised and impactful learning experience for my students.

I share the same priorities that many parents and guardians hold when it comes to their children’s development, and am positioned with the skills and knowledge to help children achieve these goals. As a Kumon Instructor, I have the training and tools to enable my students to flourish, thrive and achieve their full potential.

The most rewarding element of my role is being a part of and witnessing the ‘wow moments’ students encounter throughout their Kumon journey. Seeing a child make progress with material that initially troubled them is my favourite part of the job.

My love for being a Kumon Instructor is firmly based upon this experience as a Kumon parent, and I look forward to seeing the progress I can help your child make.

Popular Questions

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
