About our centre

We are offering Free Registration to all new students joining the centre until 30 June 2026.

The Kumon Motspur Park Study Centre welcomes students of all ages and abilities to join us, to begin their learning journey to become independent, confident and enthusiastic learners.

The Kumon Maths and English Study Programmes are designed to enable children of all ages and abilities to develop key subject skills essential for a deep and thorough understanding of the subjects. But what really makes Kumon stand out from other types of traditional tuition is their unique method of learning, which focusses on enabling students to work independently and increasing their confidence in what they can achieve.

Kumon programmes are not based on either the school curriculum or the student’s age.  Your child will be assessed so that they are set work at exactly the right level for them, enabling them to revisit and really embed skills where necessary. It also allows the opportunity to progress beyond school level work, there are no limits placed on what they can achieve.

At Motspur Park, we meet the needs of every child and allow them to realise their full potential – we look forward to meeting you soon.

Tulika Gaur

About your Instructor

My name is Tulika Gaur, and I have been a highly passionate and dedicated Kumon Instructor since 2011. Drawing from my vast range of previous experiences in varied fields, I use my expertise to provide guidance to my students across the maths and English programmes, guiding them to complete the higher levels with confidence and ease.

Prior to becoming a Kumon instructor, I was a Kumon parent and witnessed first-hand the benefits of the Kumon programmes as I saw how they helped my son and daughter. My children succeed in Kumon and are now flourishing in careers in finance and medicine. This encouraged me to become a Kumon Instructor so that I could help other children to achieve their maximum potential as well by becoming self-motivated and confident learners.

I encourage my students to become independent learners and take responsibility for their own study goals and success. I also encourage the importance of learning from their own mistakes. I find it extremely rewarding seeing their sense of achievement when they understand a new topic or excel in an achievement test.

I look forward to discussing the programme with you and would be delighted to welcome your child to the Kumon Motspur Park Study Centre.

Frequently Asked Questions

Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
