About our centre
We are offering Free Registration to all new students joining the centre until 31 March 2026.
At Kumon Peterborough, New England Study Centre, we offer the Kumon maths and English study programmes which are individualised to your child’s specific developmental needs. Following the Kumon Method, refined over more than 60 years, we support students of all abilities, typically aged 3 to 18 years, to build strong foundations and lasting confidence.
Students take the lead in their learning as they develop their abilities through daily individualised worksheet study. They gradually gain fluency and mastery over time, progressing in small, manageable steps and building confidence along the way. Beyond traditional tuition, our dedicated team at the Peterborough, New England Study Centre supports and encourages each student to become an independent learner, capable of tackling challenges with confidence. We guide students from familiar concepts to new and unfamiliar work, walking alongside them throughout the process.
The Peterborough, New England Study Centre provides a strong foundation for all examinations, including SATs, 11+, GCSEs, and A levels. We are passionate about equipping every child with the skills they need to build on their existing knowledge, enabling them to progress logically, efficiently, and at the right pace.
Through consistent, step-by-step study, children can advance beyond their school grade level while developing the independence and study skills that benefit them for life.

About your Instructor
My name is Daniel Oladejo, and I am proud to be the Instructor at Kumon Peterborough, New England Study Centre. Supporting local families and watching children across our community grow in confidence and ability is something I care deeply about.
My passion for education began many years ago. In 2007, I took part in a teaching support programme across five schools in Oxfordshire. The experience was incredibly rewarding and, following encouraging feedback from teachers, I realised how much I valued helping children build confidence and develop strong learning habits. That early experience continues to shape the way I support my students today.
Alongside my interest in education, I hold an MSc in Impact Assessment and spent 20 years working as a project professional. Throughout my career, I developed patience, organisation and a calm, structured approach – qualities that help children feel secure and supported as they progress step by step.
I also understand the Kumon Method from a parent’s perspective. My own child is enrolled in the programme, and I see first-hand how consistent daily study builds independence, resilience and long-term academic strength.
At my centre, every child is treated as an individual. I take time to understand each learner, celebrate their progress and gently encourage them to aim higher. My goal is to create a welcoming, positive environment where Peterborough families feel supported and children leave each session feeling proud of what they have achieved.
Frequently Asked Questions
Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.
Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.
As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
