The Kumon Quedgeley Study Centre is an established centre with over six years of experience helping children develop confidence, independence, and strong mathematics and English skills through the Kumon Method.
We offer three in-person classes each week, and students are welcome to attend up to two classes for personalised guidance and support from the Instructor. For added flexibility, online classes are also available exclusively to students using KUMON CONNECT, Kumon's digital learning app, allowing families to attend either in person or remotely when needed.
From August 2026, all new students will enrol using KUMON CONNECT, giving families the benefits of a completely digital learning experience. There are no paper worksheets to collect or return, students have instant access to their daily work, and families enjoy a more flexible and environmentally friendly way to study while continuing to receive personalised support from their Instructor.
Every student follows an individualised maths and/or English programme that is carefully tailored to their current ability, enabling them to progress at their own pace while developing confidence, independence, and excellent study habits.
Monthly fees range from £65 to £78 per subject, depending on the package selected, making it easy to choose the option that best suits your family's needs.
Spaces are available now. Contact us today to arrange a free assessment and discover how Kumon can help your child reach their full potential.

About your Instructor
Hello, I'm Karen, the Instructor at Kumon Quedgeley Study Centre.
I became a Kumon Instructor after home-schooling during the COVID-19 pandemic, an experience that highlighted how easily children can be left behind or not sufficiently challenged within a traditional classroom environment. Kumon's personalised approach, where every child studies at a level that is right for them, inspired me to help children achieve their full potential.
For over six years, I have supported children of all ages and abilities through the Kumon Method. The most rewarding part of my role is seeing a child independently achieve something they once believed was beyond them. Those moments of confidence and achievement are what make my role so fulfilling.
Parents can expect honest advice, regular updates, and open communication about their child's progress. I believe in building strong relationships with every family and providing personalised support throughout each student's learning journey.
Whether your child attends one of our in-person classes or studies online, they will receive individual guidance and encouragement in a welcoming and supportive environment.
My aim is not only to help children improve their mathematics and English skills but also to develop confidence, resilience, and independent study habits that will benefit them for years to come.
Frequently Asked Questions
Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.
Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.
As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
