The Kumon Maths and English Study Programmes aim to bring out the best in every child, regardless of age or ability, and help them to reach their potential and foster a love of learning. Through individualised programmes, with work set at just the right level, your child will be able to build strong learning foundations, not only developing ability in maths and English but transferable skills that will help them achieve across all subjects.

Children learn through example questions on our worksheets along with Instructor guidance. This method of learning offers much more than traditional tuition: it nurtures your child’s independence, developing strong self-learning skills to give them the tools to help them excel in the future.

The Kumon Sawbridgeworth Study Centre operates from the Bullfields Centre on Cutforth Road. We are also trying something new – we have built strong relationships with two local schools and are now offering Kumon class sessions as after school clubs via 'Kumon Club'.

All locations offer a warm and nurturing environment, where children will feel safe and able to learn. Our class sessions are currently taking place across the following venues:

• Monday at Fawbert & Barnard Infants School: 3-5pm
• Tuesday at the Bullfields Centre: 4-6pm
• Wednesday at Reedings Junior School: 3-5pm

About the Instructor

Vicki Bramley - Sawbridgeworth
Hi, my name is Vicki Bramley and I'm the Instructor at the Kumon Sawbridgeworth Study Centre. My Kumon journey began when my eldest son started studying the Kumon Maths Programme. I saw first-hand how Kumon helped him to excel beyond his school grade, and watched as he became an independent self-learner. It was amazing to see him grow in confidence, develop perseverance, and build time management skills.

Knowing how powerful the Kumon Method is, and the benefits it can bring to a child, I wanted to make this opportunity available to other local children, so, after 14 years of working in the financial services sector, I made the decision to change careers and become a Kumon Instructor.

I run the Kumon Sawbridgeworth Study Centre because I am passionate about working with children, regardless of ability. It is satisfying to produce the individualised study plans for each student and see them make continual progress. By discovering your child's potential and developing their abilities to the maximum, I aim to nurture a real love of learning and give any child the skills they need to succeed.

I look forward to meeting you at my centre!

Popular Questions

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
