About this centre
Welcome to the Kumon Streatham Hill Study Centre.
The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
Students at the centre range in age from as young as four, all the way through to those studying A-levels and beyond, and include students finding maths and/or English challenging at school, to those wanting to be stretched.
Following a free assessment your child will begin on the programmes at an individually set starting point, laying a solid foundation for effective learning. Their progress through the programmes will be tailored to their individual needs, ensuring your child continues to grow and achieve.
Unlike the process of a traditional tuition provider, Kumon encourages students to take their learning into their own hands. The role of the Kumon Instructor is to provide guidance, support and encouragement, allowing the student to develop their own independent learning strategies.
Hello, my name is Shweta Bhullar and I am the Instructor at the Streatham Hill Study Centre.
After experiencing the many benefits of Kumon with my eldest daughter, I am very excited at the prospect of delivering the same opportunity and experience to children and parents within my own study centre.
I have seen my daughter become a confident, self-learner after achieving a significant improvement in both her maths and English abilities. Achievement requires more than just having an understanding of the fundamental concepts, and I have personally seen how Kumon helped build my daughter’s confidence and encouraged her positive attitude to learning.
Seeing this confidence and positive attitude being applied to all areas of her school work as well as outside of school was unexpected, and this served as a strong motivating factor for me when deciding to become a Kumon Instructor.
I am now enjoying spending time delivering the Kumon programmes and actively helping my students develop to their full potential and achieve their goals.
For more information please do not hesitate to contact me, and I look forward to welcoming you and your child to the Kumon Streatham Hill Study Centre.

Most Popular Questions
Kumon is a self-learning programme but each student receives regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.
Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.
As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.
As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
