About our centre

We are offering Free Registration to all new students joining the centre until 31 October 2025.

Kumon study aims to ensure that every child develops a love for learning. We offer maths and English programmes to help students of any age and ability to progress their skills and build key foundations for learning. Traditional maths and English tuition helps students progress, but Kumon goes one step further by helping each child develop self-learning skills, enabling them to tackle challenging work without reliance on a teacher.

Students complete daily worksheet study developing ability and fluency gradually over time, progressing in small steps and building confidence. They also visit their local study centre up to twice a week for guidance from their Instructor. Your child’s Kumon Instructor will set work at just the right level to challenge and keep them engaged, regardless of age or school year. This means that they can strengthen their key skills or progress beyond school grade level without restriction. Kumon offers a cost-effective and convenient way to help your child build strong English and maths skills for a successful future.

About your Instructor

My name is Sehrima Ullah and my journey to becoming a Kumon Instructor began with my own children. Watching them learn and grow as they studied the Kumon programmes gave me a deep appreciation for how important it is to build strong foundations early on, and I saw how much confidence children can gain when they can master topics step by step. I was inspired by the experience and realised I wanted to give other families the same opportunities my own children had had.

I have previous experience of working in nursery and school settings, where I’ve had the privilege of supporting children at different stages in their learning. These roles taught me patience, the value of encouragement, and how rewarding it is to see a child’s face light up when they finally grasp something they’ve been working hard on – all traits that are useful to me as a Kumon Instructor.

The Kumon Method resonates with my belief that every child can succeed when given the right support and opportunities to progress at their own pace. As both a parent and an educator, I feel deeply connected to guiding children not only toward academic success but also toward developing perseverance, self-discipline, and a love for learning.

Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
