My name is Alison, and I am the Instructor at both the Kumon Westcliff and Kumon Southend Study Centres. With over 20 years of experience working with children and families in education, I have had the privilege of helping hundreds of students build strong academic foundations that will benefit them throughout their lives.

As an Instructor with ‘Elite’ status in the Southend area, I am delighted to extend my experience and expertise to the Kumon Westcliff Study Centre. I am committed to bringing the same high standards, personalised support and dedication to student success that I have established at my Southend centre.

Having experienced the benefits of the Kumon programmes through my own children, I have seen first-hand how the Kumon Method nurtures independence, resilience and curiosity. I believe that learning extends far beyond academic achievement and exam preparation. Through the Kumon Maths and English programmes, I help students develop essential life skills, including time management, self-discipline, logical thinking and comprehension skills, that support them not only at school but throughout their lives.

Over the years, I have supported students preparing for the 11+ selective school entrance examinations, SATs, GCSEs and A-levels. I am particularly proud that my students have achieved a 100% success rate in the 11+ examinations over the past three years, including 2026, for 2027 entry.

I firmly believe that building strong foundations from an early age is key to long term academic success. By encouraging children to begin their Kumon journey early, I help them develop fluency, concentration, stamina and advanced problem solving skills that prepare them for future academic challenges. At my Southend centre, I have seen many students preparing for the 11+ examinations confidently tackle GCSE-level concepts as early as Year 5. I believe these achievements reflect the power of consistent study, individualised learning and the progressive nature of the Kumon Method.

At the Kumon Westcliff Study Centre, I am passionate about providing every child with a high-quality, supportive learning experience tailored to their individual needs. Whether a student needs to build confidence, strengthen existing skills or embrace greater challenges, I strive to help them progress at their own pace and realise their full potential.

Through Kumon’s unique approach to daily, incremental learning, I aim to equip every student with the knowledge, confidence and independence they need to become capable, self-reliant learners who are ready to embrace future opportunities and challenges.
