"I find schoolwork easier to understand and complete. My mental arithmetic has improved and I can do my sums in my head."
Peter Rogers (aged 9), Yate Study Centre

Meet the students

Aaliyah

Belfast Windsor Meet The Students AaliyahThis is Aaliyah (8 years old), as you can see she is busy working on the Kumon numberboard which helps her with her hand to eye co-ordination and also her number sequencing, it's also good fun as she races against the timer to beat her previous time. She started Kumon in September 2009 and studies both the maths and the English programmes. She likes doing her Kumon and is especially fond of the stickers she receives and the certificates presented to her at the end of each level.

Her mum Jocelyn said: "You never stop practising Kumon! - I know it requires a bit of a sacrifice for both the parents and the child but I can see the benefit, in terms of my daughter's discipline and independence when studying. Most importantly, it helped her to further improve the skills that she has already had in English and Maths."

Peter

Belfast Windsor Meet The Stedents PeterThis is Peter, resting after hard work at the centre. He is 6 years old and he started at the centre in April 2009 on the English programme. He loves being able to read stories without mum's help.

His mum Gemma said: "Kumon has helped Peter consolidate the phonics and reading he is learning in school. It has given him tremendous confidence with his ability and allowed him to progress in his school work in a way that I could not have achieved without Kumon."
