"I believe Kumon is the reason why my maths has improved, and without it I wouldn't have achieved an A in my GCSE maths and wouldn't have even attempted A-level!"
Faye Liversage (aged 17), Kumon maths completer

About the centre

Welcome to the Braintree Kumon centre, my name is Kunjan Pandya and I am the Instructor at the centre. As an Instructor I am committed to each and every student in my centre and have a passion for their education and a strong desire to see them develop. The centre has been open since September 2005.

The Braintree Kumon centre classes follow a structured routine which helps children feel secure and confident. Students drop in between 4.00pm and 6.00pm on Tuesdays, and between 10.00am and 12.00 noon on Saturdays for about 20-30 mins per subject. Once a student arrives at class they swap their completed homework for new homework and collect that days class work.

Students then sit down and work individually on the work set especially for them. This ensures work is at the correct level and amount for their needs. Once the class work is completed students can do a study related activity, read a book or work on their second subject. Any corrections for that days work are done in class in order that students learn from their mistakes and achieve 100% before leaving class.

As students progress and pass Achievement Tests, they receive certificates for each level mastered.

Students who make excellent progress relative to their age qualify for the ASR (Advanced Student Roll). Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates are awarded to these students once a year usually at an award ceremony held on a Saturday. This is a national award based on their level of achievement at the end of March and again in September each year.
