High Level Students

G League

Burton on Trent Genius The G-League is open to all Kumon students studying on or above Level G in either maths or English. Students receive a letter of congratulations and a gift when they first qualify and a further award when they complete this level. Students who reach this level whilst still at Primary school receive a special gift to reward their outstanding achievement. We currently have 17 students who are G-League members.

 

High Level Student Awards

Every year students who reach the higher levels of the maths and English programmes are invited to attend a special award ceremony. This year the ceremony was held at the Magna Science Centre in Rotherham. It was a great day out for one of our students Richard who received his Level I plaque at this ceremony.

 

Richard's Story

Burton On Trent Meet the Student Award Boy"My name is Richard Bowen and I joined the Kumon Programme when I was seven years old, in 2004.  My joining level was BII, which I completed relatively quickly.  It was during those early days I realised that not only was I being stretched to achieve my potential, but that I could see clear goals and targets that I could aim to reach." 

 

"Other than completing the English and Maths programmes, one of my main targets has been to complete English level I, to find myself in the High Level Student Awards.  Therefore today is like a dream come true.  I can see how discipline, perseverance and hard work have paid off."

 

"The Kumon English programme has helped me at school because it has given me very strong foundations for grammar and comprehension of written work.  As a side benefit I have also enjoyed the broad topics of the texts and the confidence it has given me to read books for much older children.  This has helped me with my general knowledge and understanding of the world around me and the way I am able to express myself in my written work."

 

"During the month of May I had to sit my SATs exams; which I approached with the knowledge and confidence that Kumon had given me those extra tools, not just to pass, but to do very well. I feel very proud of myself and I know my family are too."
