Meet the students

11-year-old Vivien
Vivien has just moved into secondary school and has been studying Kumon since 2007. Instructor Sharon Davis says: "Vivien is making excellent progress at Kumon and is currently studying maths topics with me that she won't see at school for a couple of years. Her recent SAT's tests were excellent."

Vivien's parents say: "Kumon for me is the best thing that I've done for Vivien. She has achieved excellent grades in her primary school and we are very proud of her. Now she is in high-school, Vivien is very confident to ask for extra homework. She always gets praise from her teachers. Thankfully, Kumon has helped her a lot and we recommend it to all our family and friends. Thank you for all the support received from Kumon."

Seven-year-old Sienna
Sienna is relatively new to Kumon, starting in Easter 2012. She is studying both maths and English.

The Instructor Sharon Davies says: "It is lovely to see Sienna increasing in confidence and ability as the weeks go by."

Sienna's parents say: "I have a six-year-old daughter called Sienna and she has been attending Kumon for six months plus. We, as parents, have noticed a big transformation in her reading, writing and maths skills.Sienna has improved at her school which is due to the help she is receiving from Kumon. Her confidence is better and she is trying more new things."

Seven-year-old Hamza and nine-year-old Iqra
Hamza and Iqra started Kumon in 2010.

Instructor Sharon Davis says: "They are both exceptionally bright children and are keen, motivated students. Both students are eager to do well and love it when new work is introduced."

Hamza and Iqra's dad says: "My children have been going to Kumon for the last two years and the difference in their maths has been outstanding - especially their mental maths.

"They have both progressed into the top sets at school. I've been that impressed by Kumon that I have now just started them on the English programme as well. I have to say it's been the best investment I have made for my children."

18-year-old Elizabeth
Elizabeth is one of the assistants at the centre and helps to run class smoothly and efficiently.

Instructor Sharon Davis says: "Elizabeth was a student with me for seven years until she achieved her GCSE. She is now studying for her A-levels before going off to university."

Elizabeth says: "I started Kumon in Year 5 when I was in the lowest maths ability group at school. With Kumon I worked hard and managed to achieve an A in my maths GCSE. I have now become a Kumon class assistant which I enjoy. All of my hard work has definitely paid off."
