The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
The Kumon Dunfermline Study Centre has been developing students, from Dunfermline and the surrounding areas, since 2008 and has seen many students grow in confidence, achieve personal academic goals, and reach the top groups in their school classes. Many students at the Dunfermline Study Centre have embarked on the Kumon programmes on the recommendation of other Kumon students and their families. The current ages of students at the centre range from five to 15 years.
The Kumon Maths and English Programmes enable students of all ages and abilities to achieve. The Instructor tailors the worksheets to suit each individual child and ensures students have a good foundation to build upon before embarking on advanced study.
The Instructor is supported by three excellent classroom assistants; two who support students by marking and recording their work, and one who works with students on their reading and oral maths, and supports the early learners. In class students also have the opportunity to read a variety of books from the local library, which are renewed every three weeks.
Similar to other tuition providers the Kumon programmes focus on essential academic skills, but we go one step further by developing a child’s independent study skills, needed for school, university, employment and all other aspects of adult life.
Classes operate on a drop-in basis and each student attends class for approximately half-an-hour per subject. There is a waiting room available for parents and families, and free car parking.
