"I find schoolwork easier to understand and complete. My mental arithmetic has improved and I can do my sums in my head."
My name is Deirdre Bracks and I took over the Portobello centre in November 2011 after being an assistant at the centre. I have experience of working with children in the school environment and also in adult training and know that the lifelong study skills developed at Kumon, along with the solid foundations in English and/or maths will prove invaluable in later life.
Raising my own children I know the challenges you face. My role as Kumon Instructor is to guide and motivate your child whilst helping them develop their own independent study skills. I realise that by enrolling your child on the Kumon programme you are placing huge trust in me, and I take that responsibility very seriously.
The value of education is immeasurable. I have always had a passion for learning and love to see children do well not only academically but also in personality, through encouragement and support. Kumon provides a positive long term approach to learning, allowing students to develop at their own pace and progress to become confident individuals with the lifelong skill to self-learn.
