The Kumon Frimley study centre offers maths and English tuition to children from the age of three years to 18 years of age; from pre-school to A-levels. We have been proudly educating students in Frimley, Camberley since 2004. Our centre is elite and has been ranked the top 10 centre in Europe & Africa and ranked as number four in UK & Ireland. We have nurtured many maths and English programme completers over the years and we continue to instil the passion and dedication into many more of our students. Our students are testament to how much their daily Kumon practice supports their academic progress.

We also aim to encourage a passion and enjoyment towards reading in all of our students and keep a large selection of Kumon recommended reading books in our reading corner. The achievements and accomplishments of our students are recognised daily at our centre. We want our students to leave each class day feeling smarter and more confident in their abilities. Each year we hold a ceremony to celebrate and recognise students’ outstanding achievements. These ceremonies are attended by most of our Kumon families and students as well as local teachers from neighbouring schools.

Our centre is open four days per week and students can attend up to two classes weekly either online or physical. We are also offering Kumon on tablets via KUMON CONNECT (please contact us to find out more). We offer a free assessment in maths and English and accept childcare or tax-free vouchers. We employ a high calibre of Kumon tutors with good knowledge of maths and English as well as a passion towards teaching young people. We are so proud to continue to offer excellent support to our students and families within the Frimley, Camberley area and continued to develop a strong rapport with our neighbouring schools.

About the Instructor

My name is Anjana Sohal and I have been an Instructor since February 2015. I set up and established my first Kumon study centre in Essex before deciding to relocate to Surrey to take over the Frimley study centre.

It was my knowledge and experience in the education sector which motivated me to begin my journey with Kumon. Having worked with children with special educational needs in schools was a challenging yet rewarding experience, but it gave me an insight into the importance of individualisation. Each child is given their own starting point in the programme and they develop at their own pace with the right tailored instruction.

Seeing the smiles on children’s faces when they have tackled a difficult question independently or when they achieve one hundred percent in their classwork is what motivates me every day.

I want to ensure that each student at the Kumon Frimley Study Centre is valued and supported to enable them to reach their potential. As well as tailored instruction, I hold regular progress meetings to discuss each student’s past, present and future progress and goals. It is important that we continue to work together to ensure your child is getting the appropriate support and develop a positive attitude towards studying.

Popular Questions

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
