There has been a Kumon centre in Gosforth for more than 10 years. The study centre, which provides both maths and English programmes to children of all ages and abilities, is based at the Northern Football Club. Students attend from local schools and those from surrounding areas.
Kumon's long-term focus provides children with the self-assurance and the transferable self-learning skills to realise their potential throughout school life.

An enrolment is required before starting either programme which consists of: an introduction to Kumon; a review of the fundamentals for successful study/progress, a diagnostic test in the subject(s), forecasted study projections; and homework marking requirements.
