Meet the students

Catriona's Story

"Catriona has been attending the Kumon Maths class at Linlithgow for nearly 4 years.  She started on Level 4A and progressed to Level G just before completing Primary school.  She is hoping to achieve her Gold ASR this year.

 

Although Catriona was progressing well at school we felt that she would benefit from a more thorough grounding in the basics. She wasn't having any particular difficulties, but didn't appear to be enjoying maths in general.

 

We felt that Catriona should have been faster and more accurate with her mental maths skills and were concerned that if she hadn't grasped the basics by this early stage she would struggle when she reached secondary school.

 

Since studying with Kumon, Catriona's confidence in working with numbers has improved considerably as have her levels of concentration in other subjects.  Catriona is happy and confident in tackling maths problems and her mental maths has greatly improved.

 

It is apparent that she now has a much better understanding of maths and the relationship between numbers. She has a solid grounding in the basics which will prove invaluable as she progresses to more advanced work. Although the Kumon syllabus is different from that at school, Catriona has been able to comment on how Kumon has enabled her to attempt new challenges at school.

 

We are absolutely delighted with the progress that Catriona has made over the past few years, helped by a very hard working, motivating and encouraging instructor and her team. Thank you very much for all you have done for Catriona."

Rebecca's Story

"Since enrolling on the Kumon English programme, Rebecca has improved and is more confident with this subject. This has improved her efforts in School, as well, with good marks. The partnership of the Instructor, parent and child has worked extremely well to this continuing success, and she is much happier with English as a subject now. We are very happy with Rebecca's development and progress and full marks to Kumon."
