"I find schoolwork easier to understand and complete. My mental arithmetic has improved and I can do my sums in my head."
Hi, my name is Gill and I run the Morpeth Kumon centre. I am also a Kumon parent myself. My students never fail to amaze me and I love seeing them develop and grow with confidence with each class they attend.
I understand that your child's education is one of the most important things that you will ever consider. It is not always easy to know what the best thing for your child might be. At class I cater for many different types of children and with Kumon it really is an individualised programme set at each child's pace based on ability not age or year group.
If your child is bright and keen to study then I can guide and inspire them through the programmes – some of my students study well above their school level.
If your child is struggling at school I will take them back to an Easy Start Point; a point where they are comfortable and confident and we will work together step by step, tackling each topic as it comes along. After a number of years on the programme, students are often working above their school levels (even those once struggling) – but remember Kumon is a long-term programme nurturing the whole development of the child. There is no quick fix.
Maybe your child is the youngest in their class, maybe they are keen to learn more than they see at school or maybe they have just come home from school and asked for a little bit of help.
My role as a Kumon Instructor is very rewarding and my students are an inspiration to me. My job is to guide and motivate students through the programme, to set goals and targets together to ensure they are progressing and reaching their potential. Doing a little bit of work everyday can have such an impact on a child's development and confidence.
