Welcome to the Romiley Kumon study centre, which provides maths and English programmes for children of all ages and abilities from Romiley, Woodley, Bredbury and the surrounding areas including Marple, Marple Bridge, Offerton, Compstall, Ludworth, Mellor, Gee Cross, Hyde, Denton and Glossop. The centre opened in January 2007 and is very well placed in the Romiley Forum Theatre building in the centre of Romiley. The centre has very good car parking, it is right in the shopping centre at Romiley and it is on a number of bus routes.
Our students come from virtually all the primary and secondary, state and private schools in the area. They currently range in age from 4 to 15 and have a very wide range of abilities – some are children who needed extra help, some are high-flyers but most are in between. A few of our students have been with Kumon for more than five years and there are also several newer ones, with a few new starters most months so that no child feels they are alone in being 'new'.
Kumon study focuses on improving the vital foundations of maths and/or English, but through these programmes children build excellent study skills and concentration, invaluable to them in other subjects as well. They are helped to become more independent learners so they realise that they can tackle new subjects confidently. This helps their self-confidence all round and gives them many transferable skills to succeed in life and truly fulfil their potential.
