"Kumon is not always fun because it is challenging, but it is always successful provided parent, Instructor and student work in partnership."

Meet the Instructor

Stourbridge Meet The Instructor Lisa

My Name is Lisa Sheldon I have been the Instructor for the Stourbridge Kumon Centre since November, 2010, following the sad and untimely death of the centres' founder Larry Clarke.

Lisa

I was a Police Officer for 18 years specialising in Child Protection before retiring on medical grounds five years ago. I have just completed a Floristry Diploma with Distinctions and I also work at the Parish office here at All Saints. I started working as a class assistant for Kumon three years ago when my own daughter started her Kumon Journey. I have seen many students grow not only academically but personally in confidence and I get a lot of job satisfaction from seeing this develop in all the students. I now look forward to the challenges of being the Instructor. Please contact me regarding any concerns you may have regarding your child's Kumon Study.

Meet The Staff

This month I would like to introduce you to the centres' staff by showing our photographs and giving you a brief introduction, I hope to continue building relationships between parents and staff. I think you will agree that the Assistants are all a talented bunch and should be recognised for their academic abilities. Be assured that the students are being encouraged by good role models who genuinely enjoy their work and are very able in helping students with their Kumon Study. Staff will be easily identifiable by wearing Kumon Polo shirts and name tags. Please do feel you can talk about your child with Assistants who regularly feed back to me.
