"I find schoolwork easier to understand and complete. My mental arithmetic has improved and I can do my sums in my head."
Peter Rogers (aged 9), Yate Study Centre

About the centre

The Upminster Kumon Centre is located in the centre of Upminster, next door to the Upminster library.

aboutthecentreupminsterClasses are held in the main hall of the St. Laurence Church which is accessible via the back door.  Free car parking is available.

Classes are held twice a week and students can attend one or both classes.  Each student's classwork is suited to their own ability. This makes Kumon different from traditional 'school style' classes. Classes are motivational and interesting with a variety of engaging activities with learning outcomes.

New students are welcomed by an assistant and guided through the class routine until they are able to organise their classwork independently.

Completed homework is exchanged for new work, and the student settles down to his work for the day. Classroom assistants record homework whilst the student completes classwork. Once completed, the work is marked by the assistants.

Children also take part in supplementary activities.
