Maths Contest - Click to registerWelcome to the Kumon Wood Green maths and English centre, which was opened in 2000 and has contributed positively to the lives of hundreds of children. It is now a thriving part of the local and wider community.

The centre provides maths and English learning programmes and the majority of our students attend schools within the area and live in the local community. Progress does not depend on age and if younger students have the ability they can move swiftly through the work, they can be ahead of their school level. Equally, less confident children who are struggling at school, can progress at a pace to suit them. Children of all ages and abilities study maths and English at our centre.

Our aim is to promote independent learning by taking back children to basics and focusing on key topics. On the maths programme, they develop their numeracy skills while the English programme focuses on reading comprehension skills but also builds skills in grammar, punctuation, spelling and vocabulary. Both programmes complement the school curriculum. Many local schools, teachers and educational psychologists recommend us. Existing parents recommend us to their friends and family.

Students joining the programme must prepare themselves for success and the longer they stay on, the more successful they become. Together with my team of assistants, we consistently encourage every student to become the well-rounded, confident and capable individual they can be, equipped for life. We look forward to their success with great admiration.

With the Kumon Study your child will:
• Work at a pace that is tailored to their individual needs
• Improve their mental arithmetic and command of English grammar
• Develop study skills and concentration
• Establish a positive attitude to study.

To deliver academic achievement and success, we aim to help all students develop life skills such as:
• Focus, concentration and mental agility
• Become independent learner
• Develop confidence to tackle new areas
• Persistence, stamina and diligence

If you decide to proceed and enrol your child in either maths or English Programme with the Wood Green or Tottenham Centre, please come to the centre or call on 020 8362 0960 or email woodgreen@kumoncentre.co.uk for further information. We will arrange a meeting to assess your child's current ability and explain exactly what is involved when studying Kumon. Although most children attend twice a week, some choose to attend just once a week due to other commitments/activities. Children usually stay for about half an hour.
