The educational benefits of the Kumon Numberboards
The Numberboard has a number of educational uses in terms of developing lateral thinking and hand-eye coordination.
By regularly completing the Numberboard, students' academic skills are improved: sequencing skills strengthen, as does their ability to visualise number bonds for addition and subtraction. The Numberboard also allows students to see patterns in numbers, notably in multiples of 5 and 10.
For early learners the Numberboard may be used as part of their actual learning of numbers, number recognition and counting.
Kumon has developed a series of Numberboards for use in Kumon study centres across the UK. Numberboards are used with 30, 50 or 100 counters. A digital version of the 30 counter Numberboard is available as a free download for display on any website.
