About this centre

The centre opened its doors in 2002 and has continued to provide a safe and enjoyable learning experience for students of all ages and abilities.

Kumon is suitable for children of all ages. Students at the centre currently range from four to 16 years old, are from a wide geographical area and attend a broad selection of schools. Many students have attended the centre for several years. The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.

Kumon should not be considered a traditional tuition provider as, rather than ‘teaching’ students, we encourage them to become independent learners who feel confident in their own abilities and able to face unfamiliar work.

The team at the Andover Study Centre would like you to come and visit the centre and see how more and more parents and students are experiencing the benefits of Kumon.

Early Learner classes are also held on Saturday from 11.15am – 12.15pm.

Hello, my name is Carrie James and I am the Instructor at the Andover Study Centre. I have a team of four class assistants, dedicated to delivering a high level of support to each individual student and their family in a calm, focused, nurturing and friendly way.

Having been a Kumon parent myself, I was able to witness first had the benefits of the Kumon Method of Learning with my son in building his confidence and ability in maths.

I love seeing students increase in confidence, smile happily while studying, begin to become well able in their subject and to be genuinely proud of themselves when they crack a challenge. It is so rewarding. Parents leave the centre pleased with their children for making the effort and it is win-win all around.

I am absolutely determined to make the centre one of excellence, where staff, parents and most of all students, will be proud to attend.
