About this centre

Kumon Hillhead Study Centre is located on the upper level of the College of Piping. Established in 1944, the current College building is modern and bright, having been rebuilt in 2003.

The College Theatre offers a perfect venue for study by all ages: the main theatre area is ideal for individual study supported by experienced assistants in addition to the Instructor, while several small side rooms facilitate reading and oral work.

Through daily study, both at the study centre and independently at home, Kumon goes further than traditional methods of tuition by ensuring students maintain a level of development every day.

On-street parking is available, alternatively, reasonably priced short-term parking is available at Kelvinbridge Underground to SPT Subway Smartcard holders.

My name is Louise Stergar and I am proud to be the Instructor at the Kumon Hillhead Study Centre. Having studied at the University of Glasgow I am delighted to be working in this interesting and diverse part of Glasgow.

Recognising that each child is different, Kumon is an individualised programme, devised to discover each child’s potential and help develop good study skills. I have a passion to work with children and families in the area and to recognise each child’s achievements. I will strive to help every student achieve their goals; one of the things I love about being a Kumon instructor is when a student suddenly has that light bulb moment and says “I’ve got it!”.

The proof that Kumon works is that my own two children attended Kumon while in primary school; both experienced improvements in maths and English. An added bonus was to watch their confidence grow and see the benefits in all areas of their lives both academic and social.

I strongly believe that our children are the key to shaping a better future and as their Kumon Instructor, my aim is help your children develop independence and begin working ahead of their age group.
