Welcome to the Wollaton Park Study Centre.

The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised study.

Many local children attend the centre as well as children from afar. The youngest students at the centre are currently pre-school age and the oldest ones are at college. Children of all abilities, including those with special needs, attend this class, some because they have difficulties at school and others because they enjoy a challenge and are working well ahead of their school year. Many students attend because their parents want to help them develop their confidence.

My class assistants are on board to ensure each student reaches their full potential. One of my class assistants has sign language skills which facilitates communication for children or children’s parent who are deaf.

Kumon should not be considered a traditional tuition provider as, rather than ‘teaching’ students, we encourage them to become independent learners who feel confident in their own abilities and able to face unfamiliar work.

Hi, my name is Shruti Dogra and I have been the Instructor for the Wollaton Park Study Centre since 2015. My experience with Kumon started as a Kumon parent, an invaluable experience that has allowed me to appreciate the benefits of the Kumon Method of Learning.

My motivation has been to make a difference to the future of as many children as possible. I really enjoy watching my students become more confident individuals and acquire skills that benefit them across all academic subjects and in other areas of their lives. I have seen many students develop an enjoyment of reading and parents have been delighted by the improvements in students’ school reports and exam results.

The students in my class range from age three to 16 years. I am supported by a capable team of trained assistants. Each student is given work at their appropriate level and is observed and assessed at each class they attend. I regularly review the progress of my students and provide feedback to them and their parents, however, parents are welcome to contact me at any time outside of class by email or telephone to discuss their child’s learning.
