35 hours per week

Tuesday 10.30am -7pm, Wednesday 10.30am -7pm, Thursday 10:30am – 7pm, Friday 10.30am -6pm and Saturday 8:30am – 3:30pm

We are currently looking for a Senior Class Assistant, to cover a period of 6 months, to support the centre Instructor in all aspects of delivering the Kumon Maths and English Programmes. The Kumon Sale Study Centre currently supports over 255 children and the Senior Class Assistant plays an essential part in daily life at the centre.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:
  • Assisting the Deputy Education Centre Manager with the delivery/instruction of the Kumon programmes
  • To assisting in the setting, pulling, date, mark and record students’ work.
  • Instruct early learners and develop the work skills of our newly enrolled students.
  • To arrange/facilitate student enrolment meetings with prospective parents and students.
  • To handle parent enquiries informatively and appropriately either via telephone, email, or face to face.
  • To assist in setting up and clearing down the class in a timely manner to ensure the environment is ready for activity when the first student arrives.
  • Project-managing centre events and student recruitment campaigns
  • Perform observations of students and providing concise feedback to the Instructor.
  • Maintaining positive working relationships with parents
  • General administration duties as and when requested by line manager
Key skills and experience required for this role are:
  • A passion for education and the development of children through individualised study
  • Proven experience of working with children of all ages and observing their work in class
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage administrative tasks effectively
  • A high proficiency of maths
  • Achieved a level B or above (or equivalent) in GCSE English Language, English Literature and an A or above for Mathematics

The interview process will consist of:
  • Initial phone interview with the hiring manager
  • If successful you will be invited to attend an orientation meeting/assessment day, in a centre around the country, all expenses paid. The assessment day will be based on tests and presentations
  • The final stage will be a face-to-face interview
