Welcome to Kumon Beaconsfield! We're proud to have been offering supplementary education for families in Beaconsfield for over 20 years. Whether you are looking for extra support for your children or to challenge them further, we are here for you!

Regardless of your child's ability, we can offer a personalised study plan that will help them reach their full potential and foster a love for learning. With work set at just the right level, your child will develop their study skills, independence levels as well as their overall levels of confidence. By developing a strong foundation for learning and mastering any key gaps in knowledge, Kumon students build a wide and varied skillset to excel in other areas of life.

The worksheets provided for class and at home will ensure that your child advances their learning in small, manageable steps. We are delighted to offer the option of either paper or digital study. The choice is yours!

About the Instructor

I've always felt that it's a privilege to support children's learning progress and facilitate those "lightbulb moments". I have had fifteen years of experience as a school teacher and leadership experience from my time as an Assistant Head. I love creating a calm and peaceful environment where children feel happy to learn and truly feel valued.

One of the things that I admire about the Kumon programme is that it allows me to tailor the work for each individual student and for each child to progress at a pace that's right for them. Seeing how excited children feel about their own achievements motivates me to help them excel even further.

I look forward to making a difference to your child's learning experience.

How long does study take?

The time taken to complete a day's work may be around 30 minutes per subject. The study time is down to each individual and their current study level. Class times displayed may include a combination of in-centre and online class sessions. Please contact your Instructor for further details.

I am very happy with the additional support my son receives in maths from the Beaconsfield Kumon team. The great advantage of the Kumon method is that through the process of repetition every day, the child's confidence is allowed to grow. The national curriculum seems to overwhelm very young children with an enormous number of topics and moves on to the next topic without ensuring the child is confident in the previous topic. This fosters anxiety about the learning process. Kumon gives the child the ability to progress in the timescale that is appropriate for their abilities. Ann and the team at Beaconsfield Kumon are really kind and supportive towards the children and have provided invaluable support during lockdown.

Popular Questions

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
