Welcome to Kumon Corby! Founded in 2015, we work as one of the leading Study Centres in Europe, serving Corby, Kettering and surrounding areas.

We welcome students of all ages and abilities from 3 year olds to those through the end of secondary school. With individually prescribed daily homework and personalised class in the centre, we work to discover your child’s potential. You may simply ‘want more for your child’, your child may be performing highly in school and want to keep them challenged, or for those who are struggling with low confidence. We also welcome those with learning difficulties. We work with all.

Unlike traditional tuition, we develop children in a more meaningful way. Kumon study fosters students’ skill in self-learning. As students reach higher knowledge at their own pace, we simultaneously develop their confidence, self-reliance and maturity across all ages.

Adam works with each student on an individual basis and communicates with parents regularly. It is not uncommon to see students who have previously struggled reach several years above grade level with focus and confidence if working at the ‘just right’ level from the first day at the centre - discovered at your assessment with Adam.

About the Instructor

Hello, my name is Adam Wilson. With nearly a decade of experience within child development, I began my Kumon journey as a student.

When young, my family tried tuition and it quickly became apparent Kumon was unique - the approach allowed me to feel more confident! After 3 years of Kumon study I rose to 3 years above grade level and my self-belief built. I finished my Kumon study in preparation for GCSE exams years later as a student far above school expectations but more importantly, as a stronger young man. I take this into every interaction with my students, aiming to develop their self-belief, determination, confidence, curiosity, ability and potential - with empathy and close relationship with each parent - it brings no greater joy than to see children surprise their families over and over.

With a personal background in brain development from pre-birth to 5 years, I have experience with children with disabilities and with children who come to us with intelligence suspected by parents. I am experienced in understanding the needs of each student individually.

I also worked as a high-level sports coach with international representatives and as a child actor for BBC Silent Witness and ITV Broadchurch and Mr Selfridge.

Popular Questions

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
