The Kumon Fleet Study Centre is situated at the Holy Trinity Church Hall in Church Crookham, which is a good location for the convenience of both children and parents.

The Centre opened at the beginning of 2013 and welcomes students of all ages and abilities to follow the Kumon maths and English Study Programmes. Currently, we have students aged between three to fifteen years old, studying at the centre.

Some of the students come to us because they find maths and/or English at school challenging, others are looking to be stretched, and for some English is their second language.

Overseen by Instructor, Neveatha, there is a team of friendly class assistants who provide a supportive environment to enable students to develop academically as well as their self-learning skills. The team includes both committed students and teachers. Two staff members will focus on the development of our early learners, who have their own study area.

Through daily study, both at the study centre and independently at home, Kumon goes further than traditional methods of tuition by ensuring students maintain a level of development every day.

The unique Kumon maths and English Study Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing independent, confident learners through individualised, advanced study.

About the Instructor

My name is Neveatha Mohanaraj and I’m the Instructor at the Kumon Fleet Study Centre. I am a Graduate of Loughborough University where I studied, Ergonomics and Human Factor Design. My Kumon journey began some years ago when I worked as a Class Assistant at the Kumon Chessington study centre. Working with students and seeing them develop each week as they studied under the Kumon Method of Learning inspired me and I knew that one day I wanted to train to become an Instructor. I am proud to now have achieved this goal and I look forward to welcoming your child to start their own Kumon journey at our centre.

I believe that every child is capable of achieving their dreams and ambitions. My team and I are compassionate and can assess and understand each child’s current ability. We’ll provide a nurturing environment to support and encourage them to reach their full potential, whether they have the capability to become an advanced learner or need to build confidence resilience and techniques that allow them to achieve in maths,  English and across their school subjects, studying with Kumon is the first step.

I love my role as their Instructor and I aim to make our centre both welcoming and supportive to everyone. In addition to providing individualised study plans, I keep regular contact with parents/carers to discuss their child’s progress, as I believe that working together is essential for our students’ successful outcomes.

I look forward to welcoming your child to the centre.

Popular Questions

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
