About this centre

In-Centre Class available KUMON CONNECT available

The centre was established in early 2014.

The centre is building a reputation as a valued learning establishment in the local area and is proud to play its part in the success story of current and future generations of children in the area.

The Instructor at the centre, Andy Regan, and his team pride themselves in helping pupils of all ages and abilities to reach their goals by providing instruction and observation in a welcoming and friendly learning environment.

The centre places a lot of importance on establishing excellent study habits in younger children, and dedicated staff work with early learners to help them hone their skills. This includes reading stories with them, counting with them, and preparing them for independent learning. As well as the worksheets, there are number boards to complete in class.

Similar to other tuition providers the Kumon programmes focus on essential academic skills, but we go one step further by developing a child’s independent study skills, needed for school, university, employment and all other aspects of adult life.

The Kumon Grange Park Study Centre provides a fantastic local focus of learning for your children and looks forward to welcoming them to the centre!

You can contact Instructor, Andy for an informal chat, discussion about your child or to arrange your child's free assessment. Book an enrolment slot or call us today.

Did you know, you can now study Kumon digitally? This study centre is proud to offer KUMON CONNECT. Click here to find out more.

About the Instructor

Andy Regan - Grange Park

My name is Andy Regan and I am the Instructor at the Grange Park Study Centre. I really enjoy applying my wide range of skills in education and teaching for the benefit of Kumon’s pupils in the area.

I have two Master’s degrees and a lifelong love of learning! The importance of sharing knowledge has been a constant theme in my work, ever since teaching English to primary school children in the Middle East some years ago.

My wife is a primary school teacher and many of her pupils have benefited from experiencing the Kumon approach. This was how I discovered the unique opportunities that the Kumon Method of Learning provides.

The most rewarding aspect of being an Instructor is to see the joy pupils have when they successfully complete each major section of the Kumon programmes. This success provides pupils with the opportunity to develop the self-confidence to master any academic challenge they’ll face during school years and thereafter.

I believe that children love learning given the right environment and I am delighted that the Grange Park Study Centre aspires to foster that potential to the maximum in your child.

Popular Questions

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
