About this centre
The Kumon Nuneaton Study Centre has been helping children unlock their potential since 2001. We aim to allow all our students to excel in maths and English and develop a lifelong love of reading.
The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
During our time supporting the local community we have helped students of all ages and abilities to advance beyond their school levels. We have helped so many children achieve this ambition now, we hold annual award ceremony celebrating our students’ success. We currently have students as young as three years old going all the way up to 16 years old.
We have strong staff-to-student ratios at all times to ensure each and every student gets the support they need, whilst developing their ability to study independently.
Similar to other tuition providers the Kumon programmes focus on essential academic skills, but we go one step further by developing a child’s independent study skills, needed for school, university, employment and all other aspects of adult life.
Hello, my name is Farook Bhamla and I am the Instructor at the Nuneaton Study Centre.
I have been working with children and young people within the Nuneaton community since 2001. I was motivated to become a Kumon Instructor after seeing first-hand how the Kumon Method of Learning can support students to become well-rounded, inquisitive and successful individuals. The most enjoyable aspect of my role as an Instructor is helping a student master new work and seeing them develop in confidence whilst encouraging a can-do attitude.
My wife and I have seen, through our own son’s Kumon journey, how Kumon can develop children into becoming confident, determined and positive adults who are ready to go out into the world and accomplish all they set out to do. As a parent who has worked through Kumon, I understand how important it is to give children every opportunity to succeed and how rewarding it is helping them to do just that.
We have helped support so many students to overcome challenges and thrive in both maths and English. I am proud to offer this service to our community and if you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you.

Kumon is a self-learning programme but each student receives regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.
Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.
As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.
As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
