About this centre
Kumon study aims to ensure that every child develops a love for learning. At Kumon, we do not follow the school curriculum but instead, we offer individualised Maths and English programmes to help students of any age and ability to progress their skills and build key foundations for learning. We want to equip children to reach their full potential and progress beyond school level where their ability allows. Our unique study method goes beyond academics, as it supports each child to develop independence and self-learning skills, enabling them to tackle challenges with confidence.
We will begin by assessing your child to determine the correct level of work that needs to be set. Your child will then complete daily worksheet study, gradually developing ability and fluency. We will continue observing and monitoring your child’s progress, which will include visits to the centre for up to twice a week.
Our newly established Kumon centre is ideally located on Streatham High Road. There is plenty of free parking around our centre and supermarkets close by, so you can do a quick shop if you like! Moreover, we have implemented several measures in accordance to government guidelines to ensure your child’s safety during COVID-19.
I realised my passion for teaching when I began tutoring whilst studying at University. Thereafter, in 2015, I decided to complete my PGCE at UCL and qualified as an ‘Outstanding’ teacher. Since then, I have been teaching across the Primary and Secondary phase in both the UK and abroad. During my five years of teaching and 10 years of tutoring, I have gained invaluable experience working with children from a wide range of backgrounds, needs and abilities. I strongly believe in individualising delivery to cater for each and every child, allowing them to enjoy their learning experience whilst also building on their confidence to become self-learners. This is the reason why I trained as a Kumon instructor.
I hope to make a difference to the lives of your children, by not only supporting their academic progress, but by also nurturing them to become confident, self-motivated and independent individuals.
I am thrilled to begin the Kumon journey with your child, so please do get in touch if you are interested!

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.
Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.
As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.
As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
