About our centre
For over 30 years, we’ve proudly supported students in Weybridge and the surrounding communities. At our centre, we are dedicated to nurturing every child’s unique potential. Through Kumon’s individualised maths and English programmes, students learn at their own pace, developing not only strong academic foundations, but also essential life skills such as self-discipline, confidence, and independent study habits.
Our programmes support learners from preschool age through to 16 years old, extending beyond the traditional school curriculum to help children become self-motivated, lifelong learners. Every child matters to us, and we take care to recognise and celebrate their individuality. With regular feedback and tailored guidance, we ensure each student makes steady, meaningful progress.
As a Kumon Instructor, my role is to guide, support, and encourage students, not by giving them answers, but by helping them discover solutions for themselves. This approach fosters a genuine sense of achievement and a lasting love of learning.
Our dedicated team shares this philosophy wholeheartedly. Each staff member is highly trained, holds an enhanced DBS certification, and many are former Kumon students themselves, bringing valuable personal insight into the Kumon learning experience.
The centre is based at Weybridge Methodist Church Hall, a bright, spacious venue with free parking. We’re just a five-minute walk from Weybridge town centre and the local library, which we encourage students to explore as part of their wider learning journey.
We warmly invite you and your child to join our learning community. We look forward to supporting your child on their educational journey and helping them achieve their full potential.

About your Instructor
My name is Gill, and I’m delighted to introduce myself as the owner of Kumon Weybridge Study Centre and your child’s Kumon Instructor.
Witnessing the incredible progress children make through the Kumon programme not only in their academic abilities but also in their confidence and independence, motivated me to become a Kumon instructor. My Bachelor of Art degree and love of working with children laid the foundation for my interest in education, and my journey since then has been shaped by valuable hands-on experience across multiple disciplines.
With many years of experience working in a school environment, I led intervention programmes for EAL students (English as an Additional Language) and provided targeted support for children with speech and language, and educational needs. This experience strengthened my ability to meet the diverse needs of learners and inspired my passion for delivering personalised bespoke education.
As a Kumon parent myself, I’ve had the privilege of guiding my own children through the programme. It has been incredibly rewarding to watch their skills and confidence grow.
What I love most about being a Kumon Instructor is seeing the tangible results when a child gains belief in their own ability, begins to enjoy learning and effectively starts morphing into a confident young person, making everything feel truly worthwhile.
Frequently Asked Questions
Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.
Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.
As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
