Celebrating World Teachers Day!

Today (5 October) is World Teachers Day. A day set aside to mark, recognise and show our appreciation to those individuals making a vital difference to education, and to the lives of millions of young people. Teachers play a pivotal role in shaping children's lives and, as adults, we often still remember the words of wisdom our teachers spoke during our school days.

Other educators not to be forgotten today are our wonderful Kumon Instructors, who dedicate so much of their time and effort to nurturing and developing the potential of their students.

To honour the occasion we have put together a collection of inspiring quotes, all expressing thanks and admiration to these worthy role-models.

"Those who educate children well are more to be honoured than they who produce them; for these only gave them life, those the art of living well."
- Aristotle

"Her Instructor, Sharon, is a lovely and passionate Instructor, whose motto is to make every child believe in themselves. She helps them to achieve their best."
- Kumon Parent, Urmston Study Centre.

"A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instil a love of learning."
- Brad Henry

"Sophia is always a phone call away if you need her support. She has a firm but fair approach but is also compassionate. She believes in Joshua and as a parent, that's all you want your Instructor to do."
- Kumon Parent, Sheffield, Hillsborough Study Centre.

"A teacher is a compass that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge and wisdom in the pupils."
- Ever Garrison

"Sumeeta, his Instructor, is very welcoming and accommodating and will help in whatever way she can. She is very patient with my son who can be a challenge at times."
Kumon Parent, Foyle Study Centre. (Read about Sumeeta here.)

"It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge."
- Albert Einstein

"A master can tell you what he expects of you. A teacher, though, awakens your own expectations."
- Patricia Neal

We'd like to take this opportunity to say a huge 'thank you' to all our Kumon Instructors, and teachers across the UK and Ireland, who work so hard to shape the futures of our next generation.
